Both have the feature of uploading stories but instagram has the option of adding filters of uploading a life photo.

Instagram has the option of sending direct messages which gets deleted after seeing the message maintaing the privacy of the user unlike whatsapp where we need to delete the message which is a bit annoying.
BUSINESS :
Selling products is more easier in Instagram than in whatsapp.You just have to keep the picture of the product you want to sell and add the details of it in the description whereas in whatsapp it’s difficult.
