During a changeover, sophomore Karina Shah-Chavez is switching racquets for the second half of her match.

In Fresno, the weather was extremely hot, with temperatures climbing above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. During a changeover, Kylie Akiyama on the left and Krithika Nathamuni on the right in the light blue uniforms discuss their gameplan and stay hydrated.

Doubles partners Aline Wu, on the left, and Tessa Hocquet, on the right, walk proudly off the court after winning their match.

Upon the team’s 4–1 victory at the California Tennis Classic, each player received an award documenting their success in the Classic. The LAHS varsity girls plan to continue with this strong momentum into the season and are training to win CCS (Central Coast Section.)

With this photo essay, I made use of the new photography techniques that I learned in New Media Literacy. I wanted to show the readers the team dynamic and show how the players are on and off the court, as well as to document the victory.
