Last week’s Paris Photo fair — an annual favorite for us here at Picter — was the scene of a party we hosted at the legendary Paris nightclub Les Bains. We celebrated Picter’s second birthday with a who’s who of the rising stars of the International photo art scene.

1 Simon Lehner (Artist, Laureat Carte Blanche), 2 & 3 Twinning at Paris Photo? No – that’s just Stefanie Moshammer (Artist).

It was great to see Laia Abril, winner of this year’s Aperture Paris Photo Book Award for her book On Abortion. This year’s annual contest was hosted by Picter.

The party was a late night backdrop to a five day extravaganza of meetings with visionaries in business and the arts.

We had an ongoing conversation about an upcoming collaboration with fellow German photography tech company. The gist: what delights await us when humans and algorithms share curatorial responsibilities?

Our connection with Paris Photo artistic director Christoph Wiesner continues to flourish. We are planning an enticing project for 2019 which will see Der Greif, Picter and Paris Photo come together once again to foster the next generation of international photo talent.

Was our choice of Les Bains too posh a venue for Picter’s humble crowd of artists and muses? Perhaps. All we know is that after the initial fluctuation of early birds, the party really kicked off. DJs Kapote, Mangabey and Munk (Gomma) held down the party with dope baselines and fresh house grooves. By 1AM the club was lit!

See yourself unmentioned in one of the party photos above?
Let us know (communication@picter.com) and we’ll update the captions!

We love you Paris!
