I recently realized how much we normalized being in a low-energy state of mind. Doing our creative work or talking to our loved ones. Giving the world only a brain-fogged half-battery version of our incredible mind.

The thing is, to get the juices flowing and get the brain online is SUPER easy. All without ingesting anything, completely free, available anytime.

1. Change Your Focus — Get Inspired

Even if we love our job it’s easy to get sucked into the administrator train of thought and focus on what’s not so juicy. Or be frustrated by what we think we shouldn’t have to do.

Give your brain some juice. You will never make a decision or a piece of work with such high quality as when you’re inspired.

  1. Who inspires you the most? Listen to him/her. Read his stuff.
  2. What’s your most exciting memory?
  3. What is the most romantic memory you remember?
  4. Think of the most epic movie scene that leaves you feeling in awe.
  5. Listen to music that always leaves you feeling powerful.
  6. Look at pieces of art or human creation that make you feel humbled and proud of humans.
  7. Remember why you’re here. Go back to your vision.
  8. Have a folder of all the nice things people wrote you and said about you. Make it quickly available. And look there, often.
  9. Do, read, think, or say whatever makes you feel inspired, strong, and happy to be alive.

2. Move Your Body, Move Your Mind.

Just stop your brain as it tried to immediately jump to excuses. You don’t need to go running (although that would guarantee a stellar state of mind).

It always surprises me how much my mental state changes after even a couple of seconds of some of these. But aim for a couple of minutes.

Do it outside, at home, or even in a bathroom at work.

  1. Just shake. (You can even add your favorite song.)
  2. Get up and walk.
  3. Do a power pose for a couple of minutes. (Wonder Woman or I-Just-Climbed-a-Mountain will cover it.)
  4. Do your favorite yoga pose.
  5. Jump up and down.
  6. Do a couple of squads.
  7. Stand up and look at yourself in the mirror. Wink, point, wave.
  8. Do a silly dance.

Please, don’t let feeling silly stop you from accessing your brilliant self. Go and try if it works. And if it does, it’s silly not to use it.

3. EFT Tapping

EFT Tapping is a great way to get your energy back without even leaving the chair. (That’s still really good, however, if you’re sick, this is available to you straight from the bed.)

In the full, the Emotional Freedom Technique is usually used to disassociate negative emotion from a highly charged experience that triggers you.

It also works really great for being generally low on energy at the moment.

So basically, we tap with two or three fingers on our meridian points. You can see the points on the picture, in order.

Made by me in Canva

There’s a lot to explore, but in short:

  1. You tap each point for 1–3 minutes, in two waves.
  2. In the first wave you tap and you say to yourself (or out loud) how you currently feel.
  3. In the second wave, you tap in the new desired state.

First Wave: Accept What Is.

Look around your body and mind and realize what is exactly happening right now.

Maybe you are tired, angry, frustrated, or humiliated. Maybe you feel lazy, or like you’re not enough. Maybe you are just DONE.

Now, while tapping the points, you’ll be saying, or thinking to yourself a sentence like:

Even though [current undesired emotion or thought], [I love and accept myself / I’m safe / Everything is OK]

In this statement we just want you to accept that you feel this way and that it is absolutely fine. It’s a typical trap to feel bad about feeling bad. Or we use a ton of resources to convince ourselves we don’t feel something.

If you don’t resonate with the traditional statement ‘love and accept myself’, just say something that feels more ‘you’, but still shows your brain that you can safely accept the current condition.

For example: ‘Even though I feel like an idiot and embarrassed, I am safe right now.’

Second Wave: Tap in What You Want

When you’ve tapped on what is right now and that it is safe and OK, you should start feeling a shift. When we’re more upset it’s normal to do the first round of tapping more times.

As you start feeling the shift, you will also slowly start to find the new sentence. One that is desired to think or feel.

Some examples:

‘I always deliver.’

‘I’m strong and powerful!’

‘I can do this.’

Same as in the first part, you don’t want to be repeating things that don’t resonate at all with you. Pick something that excites you, calms you down, or just makes you feel aligned with yourself and your potential.

I tried to make this extremely short overview of EFT because I believe it to be a not-that-well-known-but-incredible resource.

I haven’t done it once without solid results, so I really want to spread the word. If you like it, you should definitely do your own research.

Thank you so much for reading ❤

I know I work, talk to friends and family, and make decisions, from a low-energy state way too often. And I think it’s a pity. This is our precious time.

So let’s shake the body & show up at our best capacity!
