We all know that many things are going wrong for our planet. And as we know, reversing that will be pretty hard soon. We, humans, are polluting the planet more and more every day. We need to change a lot of things we do to put a stop to it. No need to think big about this. We can start by changing some of our daily habits. Here are some ways you can replace your habits that are harmful to planet earth.

1. Choose the Sustainable

The concept of sustainability seems to have been quite popular lately. So which one of us knows what this really means? Sustainability, in short, means choosing materials that can be used several times or even for long periods of time instead of disposable items. However, there is a big misunderstanding about this. It seems that everyone needs to buy many new items that are promoted as sustainable products in popular culture. And of course, this is the most effective method you can use when you need to start from scratch. But, throwing away the items you can use in your home and buying new ones is not a solution for our World. Remember, the most sustainable is what you already have. Try to use what you have for as long as possible.

2. Nothing is Garbage Until You Call It So

We’re used to using things and throwing them away as soon as we are done. But have you ever thought about whether what you throw away is really garbage? Recycling has become a common thing in most countries today. (Still, it’s important to remember that plastic is largely non-recyclable.) What about the ones we can’t recycle? For example, kitchen waste. Kitchen waste doesn’t dissolve harmlessly when thrown away in nature, as is thought. It causes many harmful gases to be released into the air. And, of course, we have a way to solve this problem. We can recycle kitchen waste by turning it into efficient fertilizers. With the compost method! There are many compost methods you can use. So you can search a little and find the right one for yourself and start using it!

3. What Can Be Used Instead of Cling Films?

Many of us use cling film to store leftovers to keep them fresh easily. And when we eat them, we throw the cling films away. Today I came to you with a more ecological method! You can use beeswax wraps instead of cling films. It will help you to keep your meals fresh as well. You can buy one online, or you can do it yourself! All you need is a piece of cotton fabric and beeswax. You can do your own beeswax wrap in the oven.

4. Reduce Your Paper Cup Consumption

With the spread of modern coffee shops, paper cups are among the things we use almost every day. The biggest problem in this regard is that paper cups cannot be recycled. Instead, you can choose ceramic mugs org et your own coffee thermos.

5. Instead of Plastic Straws

Plastic straws are the most commonly used but hard to recycle because they are made of plastic. Instead of using different straws for each beverage you drink, you can get your own sustainable straw. You can choose the one for you among many sustainable straw options, such as glass, bamboo, or steel, and carry it with you throughout the day.
