As Ashleigh Brilliant once said. “At any moment, I could start being more of the person I always dream to be, but which moment should I choose?.”

Hence, it is up to you when a change will happen in your life.

Are you satisfied with your life or have complaints and desire to make a change, but for somehow procrastinating? Then let me whisper something in your ears; complaining will never help you.

You either become creative or be content with whatever happens to you and stop complaining.

If procrastination is holding you back, keep in mind that procrastination and indecision are twins, where one is found, the other would be around.

An Arab poet said, “He who is frightened of climbing mountains, forever lives in the ditches.”

There is something in you that always says get on top in life because it is the bottom that is always overcrowded.

Has anything I said touched your heart, and do you feel it is time you say enough is enough, no more complaint, and no more procrastination? Then let us go together to navigate five steps that will help us to make a change.

1-Believe you can make a change

As Seneca observed, “It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that they are difficult.”

If you believe you can make a change, nothing will be complicated.

Don’t limit your mind, believe you can quit drug addiction, believe you can get reborn, believe you can become your own boss, make your motto “All that is possible is possible for me.”

In other words, if you believe you can achieve it.

2-You should be determined and committed

Believing without determination never works; you don’t have to worry about how the change happens, but you should worry about your commitment.

It is not the will to succeed that matters, but it is the will to prepare to win that values.

As they say, “Tell me the determination of a man, and I will tell you what kind of a man he is.”

So if you become determined and committed to obtaining your goal, you can do it.

3-You should have self-discipline

Habit and discipline are the results of mind control, so you either control your mind or it controls you; without deep concentration, your mind will be your master rather than your servant.

You must be in the driver’s seat of your life, or life will drive you.

The more challenging you get on yourself, the easier life will be on you, so you should discipline your soul.

As an Arab poet said, “The soul desires more if it is encouraged, but it returns to content if it is disciplined,”.

So you should keep your mind on the course and don’t let it get off the path.

4- Ask for help

Sometimes we are like a blind man standing at a corner waiting for someone to lead us across.

A Chinese proverb says he who asks has at least a chance of getting what he wants, but he who doesn’t ask has no chance at all, so don’t hesitate to ask for help from anyone who can help you accomplish your goal.

5-Patience and persistence

Things may take longer than you expect, so be patient.

Sometimes the solution is not an offer; you should keep knocking on every door until you get the right one, therefore be persistent and hang in there.

No matter how hard it gets, the longer you persist, the greater the chance that something will happen in your favor.

What about if I share with you my personal experience, applying these steps. I have made two changes in my life; do you want to know about it? Ok, please stick with me.

The first change was weight loss; a year ago, I was over 90-pound, overweight, huh? I know, I had to buy new clothes as my old ones got tightened and unfit, long story short, I have decided to lose some weight.

In six months, I have become 66 pounds without going to a fitness center; how I made it will be another day’s story.

The second was reading habit; a year ago, I was crazy about watching movies on my laptop.

I was spending more than 5 hours every day; on the other side, it was getting hard to read for even 20 minutes.

Then I heard wisdom saying, “The readers are the leaders; if you don’t read, you are not different from the person who can’t read.”

Those words have impressed me, so I decided to make a reading habit.

I have practiced the five steps mentioned above and made it now. I read for an hour every day and I am not getting hard to do it.

If you implement all these five steps, change will come, but I am not sure if you are ready to keep your eyes on the ball.

However, remember the arrow on a bull’s eye is the result of one hundred misses; in other words, keep trying until you make it.

Finally, let it be known I am not writing this article for the readers only, but I am also writing it for myself to get motivated whenever I read it on a page.

You can encourage me too by clapping if you get my article inspiring.
