In honor of Black History Month
We are surrounded by magnificent inventions that people have created and patented over time. It can often seem as though the items and processes we use each day have always been around, so it’s important for us to look into their histories and creators.
In honor of Black History Month in the U.S., this article will specifically look at 6 African American inventors and their contributions to the world. It’s important to recognize the obstacles these men and women overcame to see their dreams fulfilled. Despite these obstacles created by the color of their skin, these individuals persevered in the name of progress. The 6 inventors discussed in this article include Charles Richard Drew, Marie Van Brittan Brown, Lonnie Johnson, George Washington Carver, Thomas Jennings, and Garrett Morgan.
