And Still, from Nowhere, Comes the Feeling I Am Lost

It comes in the quiet moments

I hang up the phone after a long call with my sister or my cousin, and suddenly the feeling washes over me. I leave from a long embrace with my husband, walk into the next room, and there it is again. It can last just a fraction of a second, or it can grab me from behind and hold on until I have trouble breathing.
