Writing is such a solitary activity. At the same time, it allows one to experience one’s own company on a deep level.
You are engaging with your own perspective. You are continuously evaluating processes and ideas.
You are in a constructive creation mode.
With every story you write, you take a giant baby step as you submit it to a pub.
One day at a time.
Your POV is flowing out of you.
You are writing to convey a message to your community.
Writing that forges a connect with the readers is one where the reader experiences the writer’s soul.
Their vulnerabilities, their strengths, their joys.
#2- It can be challenging to lay bare one’s vulnerable parts as a writer.
But it is like peeling the layers of an onion.
As you write a piece every day, you become more and more willing to share elements of your story.
It is part of the gradual evolution of a writer.
It can be so challenging to sit all by yourself in a café and write. Though you are surrounded by people that are peering into their laptops, you are all by yourself.
That is how one is in life. Walking in a crowd whilst fighting one’s own personal battles, one’s own demons and navigating one’s own path in life.
#3-It feels like you are writing into the void. Every single time.
Yet when the day is over, you feel good when you have ticked the box for submitting one story in the pub you wished for it to appear in.
A sense of hunger being satiated. Oh, so wholesome!
A gratifying day indeed.
A sense of purpose drives you. But you are marching pretty much to your own tune.
I am just marching and I know deep down that very soon a trajectory will begin to form.
The way shall appear.
With every thought I convey.
With every experience I narrate.
With every story that I etch into your heart.
One baby step at a time!
