Oftentimes, people define the word “selfish” as negative and don’t like to associate themselves with it, but they are unaware of its benefits in the positive form, I believe that in 2022 selfishness is the way to go, and selfishness doesn’t mean to completely ignore the needs of those around you, but it means putting your own needs first, caring about your problems first, making time for your own plans first, you come first then others. You are the only permanent thing in your life so why not be the center of your attention?

Here is how being selfish will benefit you in the long run:

  • You will be successful because being selfish means prioritizing your life, and focusing more on yourself, your needs, and wants. Spending more time alone is a big blessing, you will discover new things about yourself, and you will be more focused on your goals and work more, which definitely will improve you in different areas that will help you create the best version of yourself.
  • It will keep the manipulators away from you because they can’t manipulate you anymore, they don’t have access to you, they can’t take advantage and profit from you anymore, because you have set strong boundaries and you are too busy minding your own business, the manipulative people in your life will be negatively affected by you putting yourself first because they used to benefit from you putting yourself last.
  • You will be happier than ever because when you are selfish, you tend to take better care of yourself physically, mentally, and spiritually instead of wasting so much energy on meeting everyone’s needs, You will have the opportunity to spend time doing activities that you love and making plans to achieve your goals and dreams

“Sometimes you just need to be selfish and take care of you. If they love you, they’ll understand”Robert Tew
