Boost Nominator Nominates Own Story and Earns $19k from it!

Iā€™m sure Michelle Teheux wonā€™t mind me saying she pretty much won the lottery last month, with a $19k win on a boosted story about what we can learn from the Dutch about sex.

Michelle is a boost nominator, so she can nominate two of her own stories every month, and why not? I would if I could, but I canā€™t. They donā€™t want me. However, Michelle obviously met the boost nominator criteria and her story took off in a big way.

Wouldnā€™t it be amazing if we could all nominate our own stories? I applied to be a boost nominator for this reason, and because I wanted to make reading on Medium pay. They rejected my application. Told me to open another publication in a different niche, then they might reconsider. But only if it contains boostable stories.

Iā€™m not going to ask people to send me their best work if I cannot nominate it. I have ethics, if not power! I guess this leaves me out in the cold.

Iā€™m also reluctant to open another publication. One is enough for now. Maybe one day I will. Iā€™m very nervous about being sued for copyright infringement on other peopleā€™s stories. Itā€™s a huge issue with photographs. So, I find the whole concept of running a publication a bit stressful. And Iā€¦
