Consume
A Poem
You were the sun, and I was the moon
And just like theirs, our love came and went too soon
You were the ocean, singing an awful tune-
Of your waves crashing into my shore
Chipping away at my rocks, my core
You were the fire by which my eyes sting and burn-
Of your ash
Making my stomach churn
You were the lightning that hollowed
My heart
The thunder that shook
My soul
The glass that sliced through
My paper-thin wall
The man that stole my heart
And took it all
Crash. Burn. Consume-
After you, my rhythm will not resume
