Do My Followers Read My Articles?

Some Random Thoughts

Signing up for Medium gave me high hopes that I would have a new platform on which to write, find interest in my articles, and that I would quickly reach 100 followers, now being just under 500. (And I’m thrilled about that.) After the first 100, I didn’t seek out more, it just happened organically with many mentioning my bio as the reason they started to follow. So again, happy dance! And I of course started following most back, checking for their bio, articles written, and a picture. But after checking my stats almost obsessively, as probably most newbies do, I’m wondering where you all are when it comes to reading the articles written by the author that you are following.

I of course know that some or even all of my articles will not interest everyone and I accept that, but aren’t you even curious enough to read at least one? I’m sure you would like me to read your articles as well, giving claps and feedback, or just comments. And I do that, trying to comment on every article that I read and clapping 20–50 claps. In my mind, that helps us grow as writers because we all are looking for an article to be so well-liked that it goes viral, or earns a decent amount in recognition of our greatness. Comments might show us that our spelling or punctuation is terrible, sentence structure needs improvement, you were entertained, or that someone…
