Do You Think Your Article or Work Is of Greatest Value? Sorry It’s Not
Well to be precise — it might not be for everyone
You write an article, you feel so proud of that. You write a hack and you feel it is so useful that it’ll change the lives of people. You write about an idea and you feel it can change the world. Expect that all this is in ‘your world’. A world you inherited, a world filled with your views.
Each of us has different views about this world. Our nativity, educational background, the region we live and our own experiences shape how we view this world. So what is important and phenomenal to you, might not be the same with others. This is precisely one of the reasons why we need to keep trying till we reach a fair amount of readers so that some of them find our work useful. In a way, you are not entirely helping them, they are helping themselves in search of something which resonates with them.
Let’s take an example — I picked the bestseller Can’t hurt Me, but it failed to impress me. I could not advance beyond 3rd chapter. Nothing wrong with the book. It's just that I could not find it enjoyable, it failed to fit into my world.
And this also tells us why it is stupid to care and have opinions about things that we don’t understand. We often wonder why ‘those people are not finding technique useful or why don’t they invest in this? We write our own stories to understand this world and navigate through this — and you’ll find very few people crossing your path.
