Four Unforgettable Lessons I Learned From COVID
That unpredictable happening made me learn a life-long lesson.
The long span of COVID-19 was extremely tough for all of us. It was a long period of fear, loneliness, and mental stress. We felt like a bird trapped in a cage, yearning to reconnect.
Can we actually feel the pain of a captured bird now?
Besides so many negative aspects of COVID-19, it gave us a chance for self-accountability. It prompted us to think about our actual priorities.
I found myself a person with a changed perspective on life after experiencing this long phase of unpredictable happenings.
I am going to share some of my learned lessons during the pandemic and would love to hear your perspective on them.
Health should be our top priority
The pandemic made me realize the actual meaning of this quote “Health is wealth”. I was a person with poor hygienic and eating habits.
Watching the statistics of the global death rate daily, I came to know that health is everything. We should always be grateful to wake up sound and well.
We are nothing without our loved ones
Although I was captured in a cage called an apartment with my better half and a baby inside me waiting for the whole family to welcome him.
Unfortunately, COVID completely destroyed my pregnancy experience. I missed my whole family my Mother and siblings during my delivery time.
It made me realize that we sometimes ignore the importance of people when they are easily available to us.
Socializing is the key to mental health
Due to the lack of socializing during COVID-19, I went through postpartum depression. It was a horrible experience of my life.
I felt myself all alone. My husband started a temporary job in a mask and shield-making factory. I shed tears so many times due to the overwhelming sense of loneliness.
That period made me recognize the real significance of spending time with friends and taking part in social activities.
I strongly believe now that socializing is the key to mental health.
Value of life
Being humans we occasionally compare ourselves to others. We perceive other’s lives as being flawless.
We think that everybody else is happy and prosperous in life and we are not. But the Pandemic completely changed my perspective about this.
I understood that the most important thing is to be alive. Everything else is secondary. We should always be grateful for living a healthy life without any disease or disorder.
Because I felt the fear of dying and losing my loved ones.
Takeaway
The time of Pandemic was a long stretch of learning. Those unpredictable happenings made us learn that we are running after false desires. The real blessing is life.
We should enjoy every moment. We should let our loved ones know how important they are to us. We should be thankful to have friends who turn our bad days into good days.
We should give importance to our health and try to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Please share any of your learning experiences rather than the ones mentioned.
