Worthy Babcock was born in London, England, on January 1, 1897. His life spanned over three centuries. His death rocked my family on November 24, 2001. He was 104 and died peacefully in his sleep.

Grandpa Babcock was a fantastic human. He was kind, generous, and humble. He taught me to face my fears and do what’s right even when it’s difficult. The family declined after he died in 2001. This is his story.

In 1927, Grandpa’s home caught on fire. He moved his family — wife and three kids — to Denver, Colorado, to live with his sister-in-law. His family lost everything. They had no other choice but to relocate.

He never spoke about any difficulty in moving to America. We always assumed that it wasn’t hard for his family.

When he first moved to America, he obtained a job as a milkman. He would deliver fresh milk to customers. After he passed away, he still had hundreds of milk bottles in his garage.
