Sad times come to us all. Often, when we’re in the grip of sadness, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and unsure of what to do. However, there are effective steps you can take to get through these emotions and come out stronger. I’m about to share with you what works for me in times of sadness.

Every small struggle Is A Step Forward

Recently, I had a job interview in a foreign country, using a language I’m currently learning. Despite not being selected for the position, I found comfort in realizing my progress in that language. Each small victory, like feeling confident during the interview, contributes to my overall growth. Instead of dwelling on disappointment, I celebrate these milestones, knowing they bring me closer to my goals.

Pain Is Part of Personal Growth

It’s a truth we don’t always recognize. Pain and growth are intimately linked — one cannot exist without the other. And yet, we can always choose what we are willing to endure.

Family, career or friendships, we hold the power to decide what’s worth suffering for.

When I’m sad, I often ask myself if the cause of my suffering is linked to my choices. If so, I reassure myself; if not, I try to change them.

Keep Moving Forward

Let’s not forget that everything in life is temporary. Just like the seasons and the passage of time, our emotional states change. When we are plunged into sadness, a reminder is in order: this feeling is not eternal.

By recognizing the temporary nature of our emotions, we can find the strength to persevere.

Instead of succumbing to despair, we need to keep moving forward, knowing that better days lie ahead.

It’s Never Too Late to Pursue Your Dreams

Life is full of surprises, both good and bad. Unexpected challenges and setbacks may arise, but the main thing to remember is that it’s never too late to pursue our dreams.

I think we shouldn’t lose hope. Despite the obstacles we may encounter, as long as we’re breathing, it’s always possible to achieve our goals.

Call For Backup

When I’m sad, the last thing I want is to encounter another sad event or sad person. I just want to reduce my pain and get back into a cheerful mood as quickly as possible. To do that, I can do a lot of leisure activities like playing, reading, but I also use my friends. I have so many friends, so many positive friends. The ones who are right there to support you through the sad and difficult times.

I have Victoria. Someone I confide in when I’m in distress. She always takes the positive side of my situation. When I asked her why she always (or only) considered the best part, she replied: Do you want me to cry with you?

The next time you feel sad, remember that it’s only for a moment. Call your Victoria, and don’t contaminate everyone with your sadness.
