How To Manage Irresponsible Persons

Some useful tips for your protection

Responsibility can be described as contributing to a relationship when needed, doing your duty, and being accountable for your actions. Being responsible and accountable with a generous awareness of what should be done in a particular situation is one of the best traits a man can have.

Irresponsible person on the other hand blame others for their mistake, can’t fulfill their duties, and expect everything to be as per their wish. Irresponsible persons are packets of unexpected emotional responses and create annoyance and chaos wherever they go. This article offers some useful tips to deal with the person you found as an “irresponsible one”.

Here are some common symptoms shown by an irresponsible person:

  1. They didn’t do what they were prescribed to do
  2. They aren’t aware of their duties and other’s expectations of them
  3. They have irrational values and priorities
  4. They are uncomfortable when others become dependent on them
  5. They don’t take responsibility for their actions
  6. They blame a lot for their life problem
  7. They don’t respect other’s boundaries
  8. They can’t resist opinion clashes

Now, here are some ways to deal with them effectively to make yourself protected from their actions and to make them realize their behavior:

  1. Simply confront them what you want them to do: Chronically irresponsible People don’t realize the chaos and annoyance they create. You need not teach them how to be responsible but, you have all the right to tell them what problem they’ve caused by their irresponsible behavior and what your expectations from them.
  2. Cut them off: No matter how hard you try you can not teach an irresponsible person to be responsible. When you are aware of their behavior simply cut them off, and remove their involvement from important tasks and events. Make plans without them and don’t expect anything mature and responsible from them, keep a tight lid on the things about your important events and plans.
  3. Have a counterattack plan: when you know they are about to create chaos, you better prepare yourself before their actions. An irresponsible person lives with a certain sense of entitlement, they’ll keep their eyes on what you are doing and how you are proceeding, so it’s far better for you to have a plan to counter-attack their actions.
  4. Lure them with what they want: When everything fails having a bait to control them is a better option. Figure out what they want and then provide them with certain terms and conditions. This will let you have power and a certain authority over their action and will help you prevent the headaches they may cause.
  5. Bombard them with responsibility: Irresponsible person are conically unaware of their actions and the only way to make them aware of their behavior is to bombard them with responsibility. Remember what they’ve promised, make them aware of what they are doing, and respond according to their conviction to make them realize their ill beliefs and tantrums.
  6. Agree with them to prevent useless discussions: An irresponsible person loves you to get trapped in their useless and purposeless discussions. When you don’t argue with them and simply avoid the fight by agreeing to what they say, you make them disarmed. You don’t have to follow their assertions, you just have to agree and say what you are saying is right in your point of view.

Irresponsible adult person is a problem to society, they are unaware of the mess they create and expect too much from others which makes people around them emotionally exhausted. The best way to deal with them is to primarily protect yourself, then stop relying on them and make them aware of their behavior.
