How You Can Actually Achieve Your Goals
An easy-to-implement system for setting and achieving goals
Have you ever asked yourself what to do? Or do you know what you want but can’t achieve it? Well, in this article, I’m going to talk about how to set and achieve goals with simple steps and tips that you can use in your life. As well as giving some examples of how I used these steps in my fitness journey.
studies have shown that about 90% of the people give up on their goals. I want you to be in the top 10%.
Finding your goal
First of all, you need to find a goal. To do this, you should be thinking about what’s important in your life, what you like, or something you’ve always dreamed of doing. With these three simple questions, you will find something you want to achieve.
I always wanted to look good and have a good physique, so that’s what I chose to work on. My friends also motivated me to go with them, which helped me a lot.
Most people stop there because they are either scared to fail or have no idea how to start. But I have some tips later on in the article for people who face these issues.
While you find a goal, you should always be asking yourself why you want it. Because a goal is nothing without intentions, and good intentions will always motivate you to keep going. Don’t do things because other people want you to do them, do it because you want them.
Making a plan
As I already mentioned, a lot of people get scared by the idea of a goal because they have no idea where to start.
As an example, many people who go to the gym for the first time have no idea what they are doing, and this is okay. But if you keep going without any idea what you’re doing, you will not achieve what you want.
You can apply this to a lot of situations. To avoid this, you should first research the topic and make a structured plan for how you want to achieve your goal.
For the first few times going to the gym, I also had no idea what I was doing. Luckily, I had a friend with experience who taught me a lot of things. We made a routine, which we followed and had great results with.
But you can’t just achieve a very big goal at once. To achieve this main goal, you need to set smaller goals, which will eventually lead to achieving your main goal.
I also did this for my fitness journey. My goal was, of course, to get a good physique, but this goal is too big to achieve at once. So I had my own goals, like, “This week I will do 10 pull-ups.” Or, “In a month, I will do a muscle-up.” And even if I didn’t meet these goals, I was still happy because I was making progress.
“One part at a time, one day at a time, we can accomplish any goal we set for ourselves.” Karen Casey.
Executing your plan
The hardest part about achieving a goal is actually taking action. To avoid procrastinating, you must have discipline, and the hard truth is that many people don’t have this. Motivation will help you get started, but in the end, you will need discipline to reach what you want.
To help you keep going, you should have someone who pushes you. I know that this is not easy to find, but with someone else, everything becomes easier. Personally, I had a friend who pushed me in the gym and helped me progress, without him, I probably wouldn’t have reached my goals.
You also divided your main goal into smaller goals. So it’s easier to reach one, and when you do that, it gives you a feeling of accomplishment, which keeps you going.
What kept me going in the gym was seeing progress. But not only progress, I also just like it because of my friends and because of the positive people who are there. And when you do something you like, you will want to keep doing it.
