Is Silence Your Secret Power?

Do you ever practice the silence game? Shutting out the world and concentrating on your inner peace? No, not the mind. That’s meditation. No, not the breath. That’s yoga. Not even focusing on the universe or the nothingness — depending on which side you are on.

The inner peace. The stillness of the inside voice.
Have you ever experienced a split moment of absolute scary at first silence? Do you know what it sounds like? Did you sense its magnitude?

Most Eastern philosophies and cultures, from the Tao (Tao-te-Ching, the Book of Tao, introduced by the fabled Lao Tzu) to Zen — the esoteric Zen that resides inside the psyche, maintain that silence plays a definitive role in life! It is front and center in helping humans find balance and keep turmoil at bay. Cicero, Dalai Lama and many members of spiritual echelons praised the importance of silence as an astounding character trait that sets apart those who practice it as a subtle form of wisdom and power!

The mind is, by design, never silencing. You must take on the work and education to get close to that level. Some say one cannot even begin to conceive what it feels like to experience a zero dB noise level in your surroundings. This must be comparable a feeling…
