Karma and Destiny, Tale of Twins
Divine interplay that defines outcomes in our life
If everything is preordained, can we change our destiny?
Aarav and Atharv, twins born in the same family had different outlooks towards life. Aarav was a conman, a cheat, and a sadist who drew pleasure in pain. He was the bully we all have faced sometime in our life. Atharv on the other hand was a simple down to earth humble person, who did everything by the book. He was a simple person and our usual boy next door.
Aarav had a posh life and he got away with almost everything and escaped every punishment. Atharv on the other hand had a lot of struggles in life.
One day while traveling together they had a car accident. While Atharv had a major abdominal organ injury and required extensive care and support, Aarav on the other hand was unharmed with no major injury. After months of rehabilitation, finally Atharv was shifted home. He was sad and depressed about how unfair life has been to him.
He murmured “I have done nothing wrong in my life, I have done no harm, why do I have this pain and suffering”
Atharv: Hey God, why you did not save me, like you saved my brother?
Atharv was sad and started crying and fell asleep
God: Wake up child, I know you are upset and sad.
Atharv : (with folded hands and tears in eyes) Life seems unfair, I follow you and I don’t harm anyone, why do I get all pain and suffering.
God: I know it all seems unfair, let me explain.
Atharv: Nodded, yes.
God: Our life is not only defined by the karma of this life but also our karma of many past lives. Whatever good or bad we did comes back to us, but we can always modify the outcomes of our destiny.
Atharv: How?
God: You see 6 months back on the day of the accident you were supposed to be spending your last day of this life. You were not supposed to be alive, but your karma has changed the destiny of your life. Your brother on the other hand was supposed to be the CEO of the biggest company and was supposed to change the life of so many people…but he lost his path and would be caught by police and would spend the rest of his life in prison doing nothing.
Atharv woke up and smiled, his pain was gone. He was happy he got one more chance to live …
Always remember we can change destiny with karma and the choices we make. Remember our actions define our outcomes. The story of our life is open with multiple outcomes depending on what option we choose.
Let’s take a pledge to redefine our life the way we want.
Let’s modify our Destiny with our karma.
