Not sure how to survive Corona Quarantine? Here are 10 awesome, unique tips!

Spoiler: You do not have to do every tip if you do not want to. But all of them are worth a try. Trust me.

I’m not sure how governments in other countries manage Corona infections. In my home country, Germany, however, you must stay at home for at least seven days (ten days if not tested negatively) if you have a Corona infection. If someone from the municipality notices that you are not doing it, you must pay a fee (about 250 Euros at the moment). After all, you may also infect other people when wandering around in a supermarket or so when you are infected.

So, why take that risk and not just stay at home?

Last week, I had to spend time in Quarantine as well. I asked some friends for advice on how to get through the Corona Quarantine. Of course, I gathered some advice as well. Here are the most inspiring and partly unique tips for you I could find:

Tips on surviving the Corona Quarantine:

#1 Be prepared for the Quarantine

Be prepared to spend some time in Quarantine. Choose a TV show you’ve always wanted to see and make sure you have enough groceries (or ask someone to acquire them for you in case it’s too late).
Last, but not least, have some Corona tests at home to see whether you’re still infected after a week or so.

#2 Everything is better without a pant

I received the idea from a pal, and I must say, everything is a lot more comfortable without a pant. However, I continue to be a major lover of jogging pants. For those who do not like jogging pants and in case it is not too chilly: You can wear no pants every here and then throughout your quarantine as a game-changer to make things more exciting.

#3 Do not shower

You can conduct some ‘healing’ for your skin by not using shower gel or shampoo that includes artificial/chemical elements, depending on the type of shampoo or soap you are using. You can wash with water but not with deodorants. Enjoy your healed skin after some days.

#4 Save the world. Eat the food you do not like

If you don’t taste anything while you’re sick from Corona, you can eat some of the food that you’ve been storing for a while but don’t enjoy. So, take advantage of this opportunity to get rid of whatever you don’t like at home. Another possible way of protecting the earth by reducing food waste.

#5 Cleaning. Cleaning. Cleaning.

And more Cleaning. From the moment you are fit again, you can start cleaning. Every corner, every room, every spot you haven´t cleaned for a while. Or you might even have not noticed yet, that certain spots exist at your place that can get cleaned. Clean everything for one purpose: To get cleaned and recovered from the Quarantine

# 6 Organise your papers and files

Are there maybe some files with letters or other papers laying around at your home that need to get organized? You have not had the time for it?
Now, you really cannot make any excuses anymore for not doing it. Imagine the feeling of satisfaction when you are done organizing these wonderful written formal letters.

#7 Improve your baking/cooking skills

Be prepared for your next Christmas visitations and gain some awesome new baking or cooking skills during your quarantine. No one will care if you have gained some weight after your Corona infection. I am sure, everyone will understand so do not be ashamed of eating a lot.

#8 Talking with yourself can be better than talking to no one

Do you feel like getting crazy during your Quarantine? Maybe talking with yourself can be helpful to ´prevent´ becoming really, really crazy. If talking with yourself does not help, you should regularly contact people with whom you can have video calls.

#9 Painting. Handcrafting. Writing

Three activities for tip number nine that can help you spend the quarantine by using your creative skills. Or developing them if you think you are not creative yet. One secret tip: YouTube and Google are good sources for learning almost everything you want.

#10 Making a walk outside?

I know, being in quarantine is the rule. But, if you feel secure about it and you can ensure that you will not go somewhere inside and you do not meet someone who you potentially could infect, I would say it is okay to have a short walk outside. Better do that, than getting totally crazy by being inside, if you are an ´outside´ person. Another reason for that is that fresh air can contribute to getting rid of an infection. I personally did not have to do it. But for some, there might be no other way than to survive the Quarantine by going outside shortly.

Last words:

Sleeping, resting, and getting healthy again is the most important thing you should do during the quarantine after all. Believe me, the first days in quarantine are not that bad. But, sooner or later, you want to go outside and be ´free´ again.
