Talk To Yourself
Why I feel it’s important to spend time with yourself
So tonight around 9 P.M I spent some time in my pool. It was good for me to stay away from my phone and just swim in silence and think about everything currently going on in my life.
Sometimes our egos get the best of us as we can’t keep up with work and other time-consuming activities.
Being alone in the pool and staring at the stars made me appreciate life a little more. It’s always the small things in life that should make us smile.
- Waking up with a roof under your head
- Having enough food in the fridge
- Appreciating those who are there for us
- Having some amount in our bank account…..
The last one is something I can relate to at times because I spend money and don’t always save but you get the point. The small things in life should make us grateful for what we currently have.
Sometimes I feel like having a different living situation with different people around me would be better, but sometimes we have to learn how to deal with the resources we have.
It’s always a good thing to step away from reality and think about yourself and what you want your goals to be. Life can be chaotic at times so it can be hard to balance things all at once.
We as humans also get caught up in the opinions of others and start living life by other’s standards without knowing.
Talking to yourself may come off as being insane by some but I find it as a way to get to know yourself better.
In moments of anger, sadness, frustration and many more I find it therapeutic to take a step back and talk to yourself, asking a question such as why does it bother me so much?
All of these emotions are part of the human experience which is why it’s important to talk to yourself to learn how to control yourself in certain situations.
The main takeaway from this is to appreciate yourself more and be grateful for what we have in the current moment. Learn to love yourself!
