.Mark Cuban. Richard Branson. Indra Nooyi.

Each Entrepreneur has his style but recently, I started to see them in a different way “The foodie way”. They’re like meals yes, you read that right. I’ve met three kinds of entrepreneurs

The Buffet

These are the serial entrepreneurs. They see a problem, solve it, and then they move to the next thing. Doesn’t matter what the problem is or what domain it’s in; what drives them is the thrill of solving a problem, then another, and another. They’re relentless, always on the lookout for how to improve things. Their portfolio is diverse, spanning multiple sectors, just like a buffet with a bit of everything. They take on multiple problems simultaneously and tackle them with the same energy.

MCC — Mark Cuban Companies

I feel Mark Cuban fits well in this bracket. His journey, starting with Broadcast.com, which he sold to Yahoo for $5.7 billion, to owning the Dallas Mavericks, being a Shark Tank investor, and now the Cost Plus, speaks volumes. Cuban thrives on opportunities across different industries, from sports to media to technology. He says he likes to win the challenges thrown at him.

The Seven-Course Meal

These are the entrepreneurs who take their time and savor each venture. They tackle one project at a time, making sure each one is perfectly done before moving on to the next. It’s all connected by their ideology, their way of seeing the world, their ultimate goal. These people have a vision that ties everything together, and they’re focused on making each venture the best it can be before adding another plate to the table.

Virgin Airlines

Richard Branson is this, no doubt! From his early days trying to stop the Vietnam War through his magazine Student, to revolutionizing the music industry with Virgin Records, and then boldly entering the airline industry with Virgin Atlantic, his ventures are all tied together by a shared spirit of pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo. He evolves from one thing to the next in a way that makes sense, like a chef curating a perfect multi-course meal.

The Home-Cooked Meal

This one’s different. These are the steady leaders in established organizations. These entrepreneurs aren’t necessarily creating something new from scratch, but they’re incredible at leading and optimizing what already exists. They know how to get the most out of every part of an organization. They’re not afraid to get involved from top to bottom, making sure every process is dialed in and every part of the team works seamlessly.

Indra Nooyi at PepsiCo

Indra Nooyi at PepsiCo is a great example. She didn’t just keep the ship sailing, she transformed it. From pushing PepsiCo toward healthier options to expanding its global reach, she was all about long-term impact. Nooyi was hands-on, strategic, and deeply involved, like a perfectly crafted home-cooked meal that takes time and care.

At the end of the day, whether you’re a buffet, a seven-course meal, or a home-cooked meal, it’s all about making something better and creating an impact. So, what kind of meal are you?
