You’ve seen celebrities do it online. They’ll post a video of playing credit card roulette to see who picks up the bill. Now you want to play.

You think you’re:

A. A high roller

or

B. You’ll beat the odds

I’m here to tell you, you’re not a high roller. You would’ve been playing this game already. The flip side also is, you won’t win, at least continuously. Your luck will run out. You’ll have to pay.

And let’s be real. You’re poor.

As soon as you lose, will you then cry foul? You’ll tell everyone this is a joke and you didn’t want to play, even though it was your idea? You’ll look like a chump, and they’ll tell the waiter/waitress to just put it on your card anyway.

Others play it with celebrities, because even if they have to pay, they’re still in the entourage. A small price to pay for a daily good time. You may consider your group of friends an entourage, but you’re missing the rich celebrity component.

If you play credit card roulette, make sure the waiter/waitress plays fair too. They may choose the flashiest or blandest looking card. Have them do it behind their back. This way it’s a blind-pull and there’s no decorative-card bias.

Can you afford to play this game?

If the answer is no, then don’t play it. You don’t need this stress in your life.

Just enjoy the meal. You don’t need to add gambling into the mix. You can play pie-roulette. Just say ‘bring me any slice of pie’ and see what happens. That’s as far as you need to go.
