SANTA AND A LADY
Me and Santa. KJH 12/6/23.

I often assume that EVERYONE loves Christmas.

While ringing the Salvation Army bell outside a local store, I thought about those who do not have as much to celebrate this Holiday Season.

Many need help to afford the gifts, parties, and decorations that make this time of year festive. Over 500,000 people in the USA have no permanent home — economic stress and sadness cause struggles for billions worldwide.

These folks have little to look forward to when it comes to Holiday cheer and will feel fortunate to get a free holiday meal from the Food Pantry, churches, or other giving organizations.

I can’t imagine how that must feel.

Citizens of Ukraine dispersed all over the world have had their lives uprooted, homes leveled, and loved ones killed since the invasion by Russian military forces. The situation doesn’t look like it will improve any time soon. It will be with heavy hearts they watch another Christmas come and go while the country they love remains in turmoil.
