Kids put everything in their mouths as youngsters.

It’s hard to stop them, and one moment you take your eyes off them, kids pick the most dangerous items, like glass cups, utensils or something dirty off the floor, which magically appears in their mouths.

These days, it’s hard to stop kids from getting sick, but unfortunately, there are toxic substances in many items children play with.

An article in the journal Journal of Hazardous Materials indicated that old toys and dress-up items might contain toxic chemicals that can cause cancer, damage DNA or disrupt the future reproductive capacities of children.

Researchers studied 157 different toys, both new and old and then measured their chemical content.

This study showed that older toys and items (84 per cent) contained chemicals that exceeded current legal limits!

A total of 30 per cent of the newer toys and items also exceeded the legal limits. But, the older toys were far the worst in terms of chemical content.
