Two Hours of Weekly Goal Reflection Helps Me Realign!
With My Inner Compass. And Here’s How You Can Too!
#1 — Have a Weekly Ritual
It is what I do every weekend for two hours.
I pull out my Ipad and stylus.
I love the smoothness of working with the stylus on the Ipad screen.
It eggs me on to write and plan more deeply.
So you choose your preferred medium of writing.
As per your availability and comfort.
If you are a spiral notebook and pen person, you can work with that.
Buckle up for some self assessment.
Do some self-evaluation exercises.
#2 What Did I Accomplish?
I reflect on the following:
How did last week pan out?
Do the accomplishments of last week, align with my life’s vision?
Or not?
I do not want to waste time and energy (both of which are finite sources) in shooting darts in the dark.
I want to prioritise activities that help move the needle in so far as my long term vision for my life is concerned.
Identifying what worked in the week and what I accomplished is key.
#3- A Ritual Cannot be Complete if I do Not Plan for the Week Ahead
Make a list of your MITs (most important tasks) that you wish to accomplish by the end of the week.
Tasks that will take you further, that could not be accomplished for whatever reason last week.
What are the obstacles?
You need to assess them before you can address them.
Could be making a few calls to people who can help you out.
Could be meeting those people who will facilitate a process for you.
Meeting up with people who you could facilitate a process for.
If it is listed on your MIT list, it must be done.
Or attempted seriously.
#4-Calibrating Your Long Term Vision With Synchronicities That Are Coming Your Way
Try to re-write your life’s vision every week.
I visualise how my core values are aligned with my long-term vision.
I need to reinforce my ‘why’ every week.
It shapes and defines my reality.
It helps me make the most of synchronicities that are being offered to me and pay heed to the doors that are closing on my face.
I am always trying to decode try the language of the Universe.
Here, I wish to give the analogy of learning a foreign language.
I need to comprehend the syntax, the grammar, the rules of the language.
Only then, you will be able to converse in it.
But first I must get the hang of the rules.
If you sit with your long term vision often enough, every weekend or every fortnight, you will be able to make sense of the synchronicities that are occurring.
I am often able to detect patterns emerging.
The heart and intuition know.
The mind is a logical and rational creature.
The intuition has unlimited perspective.
I have learnt to trust it.
#5-I also reflect on ‘my goof-ups of last week.’
I reflect on the lessons from the situations where I goofed up.
‘Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.’
Albert Einstein.
If I have a hunch that my actions are in misalignment, I surrender to that feeling of inner knowing.
Once you sit down with your goals very weekend, you will weed out the energy that you are investing in unnecessary tasks and activities.
If you do not iterate, you could just be going around in circles time and again.
#5 — Visualise in Your Head What Your Ideal Day Will Look Like
If you don’t plan for your ideal day, how will you experience it some day.
Conjure up the feelings of living your ideal day — draw into your experience what you always wanted.
You need to ‘feel’ it in your consciousness first for it to manifest in your reality.
Every manifestation is rooted in feeling.
‘Feel good’ feelings are powerful manifestation tools to create a life of abundance.
The more we practise ‘feel good’ feelings, the more we are drawing positive
experiences towards us.
That is how I re-orient myself for the week. Every weekend.
I feel so much more sorted as the week unfolds, as I have already done my home work and process work.
