Anxiety is one of the most common mental health disorders and the second-most common mental illness in the United States. If you suffer from anxiety, it can feel like there’s no way out. However, if you deal with your anxiety effectively, you can start to build up your confidence and ultimately deal with your anxiety better. We’ve put together some ways to deal with anxiety and coping that will help you start living more comfortably with your disorder.

1) Acknowledge it

The first step is acknowledging that you have anxiety and that it’s normal to feel this way. You’re not alone in feeling anxious, and there are ways to cope with it. If you find yourself avoiding your fears, talk to someone about them instead. You might be able to work through the problem together. It also helps if you start small by setting reasonable goals for yourself and working your way up from there.

2) Ask for help

Don’t try to go it alone. Ask your friends and family for support and help. Delegate tasks so you don’t feel overwhelmed. Let others know what you need from them to feel supported. Seek professional help if your anxiety is impacting your quality of life.

3) Know you’re not alone

When you’re struggling with anxiety, it can feel like you’re the only one. But the truth is, anxiety is one of the most common mental health issues. Let your friends and family know what you’re going through and ask for their support. It can make a big difference to have people you can rely on.

4) Don’t give up

It’s easy to feel like giving up when you’re struggling with anxiety, but it’s important to remember that things can and will get better.

5) Identify your triggers.

What situations, people, or places make you feel anxious? Avoiding these triggers, or at least being prepared for them, can help lessen your anxiety.

6) Find healthy coping mechanisms.

Some people cope with anxiety by turning to unhealthy habits like drinking alcohol or smoking which with time will cause some serious health issues. Rather find a healthy coping mechanism like exercising, reading, listening to music, and visiting cinemas

7) Breathe

Breathing is one of the most important things you can do when you’re feeling anxious. It helps to oxygenate your blood and relax your body. Try inhaling for four counts and exhaling for eight counts. Repeat this until you feel your anxiety start to dissipate.

So if you're having anxiety disorder, believe me, you can deal with it. Let me know if you've decided to try one of these methods. Thank you
