You can take the boy out of Brooklyn…But you can’t take Brooklyn out of the boy.

1) When “You had me at Hello” is not a line from a movie… but your response when your Midwest colleagues recognize your voice on the phone.

2) When you don’t have to be tough… to have toughness.

3) When living in the 4th largest city in America, that’s not a city… makes perfect sense.

4) When going to BC… was not Boston College.

5) When being part of the “Melting Pot” means… you are part Tony Manero, Jerry Seinfeld, Alan Dershowitz, Michael Jordan (bet you didn't know he was born in Brooklyn) and your father.

6) When Williamsburg is not only known for being the hot new neighborhood… but where your parents grew up and the home of Peter Luger, the world’s greatest steak.

7) When growing up… Trump Village was as grand as Trump Tower.

8) When Brooklyn Bagel and Brooklyn Pizza… are not slogans.

9) When we are proud of and support each other… so even though fellow Brooklynite director Darren Aronofsky did not publicly acknowledge your last article, he knows, that you know, that he liked it.

10) When a shameless plug (# 9) is sort of expected LOL… but never admitting you know what LOL means.

11) When pre-9/11 you didn’t bat an eye… when Uncle Benny got patted down every time he passed through airport security even though the buzzer never went off.

12) When you want to move an hour and a half away… but won’t commit unless the local diner can make a chocolate egg cream.

13) When your spouse insists you move anyway… so you teach the waitress how to make one (no egg of course).

14) When you have no interest in bridges… but know the Verrazano Bridge is the longest suspension bridge in the world.

15) When “Die Harder” is not a movie sequel… but how you would describe being a fanatical Nets fan when the team moved to Brooklyn.
