Ecstatic Truths: Documentaries by Herzog ($14, Manhattan)
Werner Herzog is one of the greatest figures of the New German Cinema and the directory of Grizzly Man. The IFC Center in the West Village kicks off 6 days of documentaries starting with the amazing Cave of Forgotten Dreams 3D on Friday!

ELEMENTS Outdoor Music & Arts Festival ($88, Brooklyn): 5 different stages (Earth/Air/Water/Fire/Fifth), interactive art installations, 3D projection mapping, delicious food vendors, and so much more. Featuring Gramatik, Klingande, Claptone, Mija & many more backdropped on the industrial Brooklyn waterfront! Starts at 1pm
Citi Summer Streets 2016 — Week 2 (FREE, Manhattan): It’s the second week of Summer Streets! You can water slide, soar through the air on a zip line, dance, get fit, immerse yourself in a public art and architecture tours or just stroll along and experience the city’s streets in a new way — all for free. From 7am to 1pm.

Michael Arenella’s Jazz Age Lawn Party — August Edition ($55, Governer’s Island): New York City’s original prohibition era inspired gathering. Attracting more than 20,000 fans over two weekends, who come together to discover music and zeitgeist of the 1920s and 1930s, enjoy sophisticated bites and vintage-inspired cocktails in a romantic, playful setting. 11am-5pm. Also, on Saturday!
35th Anniversary Battery Dance Festival 2016 (FREE, Battery Park): Come and enjoy the breezes off the Hudson, watch dancers from far-away places (Turkey, Austria, India, Romania) and here at home — all for FREE! From 6:30pm — 8:30pm
Outdoor Movie Night — The Good Dinosaur (FREE, Randall Island Park): Not everyone’s favorite Disney/Pixar movie of all time but a great one nonetheless. Surrounded by stunning vistas, Randall’s Island provides a gorgeous setting to enjoy a film with your friends or family under the stars throughout the summer season. Starts at 8pm
All Weekend
NYC African Food Festival ($20, Fort Greene): A vegan and vegetarian-friendly event showcasing Africa’s unique and varied cuisines and giving you the chance to connect with some of the best African chefs, food experts, and curators. Starts at 12pm
Fringe Festival($18 per show, mostly East Village and LES): As Broadway and Off Broadway take breathers before the fall, this festival takes over! 200 offerings by various theater and dance companies, each of which gets just five or six chances to show its stuff over the next two weeks. Many of the city’s best Off-Off Broadway venues participate.
Celebrate Brooklyn! (FREE, Prospect Park): BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival is one of New York City’s longest running, free, outdoor performing arts festivals. And it’s the last weekend for it! Starts at 7:30pm each day

Blacklight Slide ($40, Brooklyn): Getting tickets to this unique event can be tough so we decided to share this August 21st event now! Blacklight Slide™ is a unique night experience focused on UV Neon Glowing fun.
