New Zealand thoughts

As I already wrote at the beginning of this course, New Zealand and the Kiwis seem very strange if you look at them: A bunch of englishmen dropped onto an idyllic island.

But I quickly learend that there is more to them: The uniquie nature, the native population (and the struggle to make it clear that they are NOT Australia) formed a really interesting and diverse nation, and from what we have seen during the course, definitely not the worst. Sure, New Zealand has problems and troubles, the sky isn’t always blue down there, but considering the mindset of the Kiwis, I’m sure they will overcome all of them with ease if they really try before buying some ice cream and enyoing their islands’ beautiful nature.

In Germany we don’t get the chance to learn something authentic about New Zealand very often, and so it was very interesting to get an insight into this far away nation that seems so european on the one hand while offering so much surprises on the other.

Getting up early for this course nearly every week was a real task, but in hindsight I do not regret it, it was an experience worth the effort.

(To be fair, I’d get up even earlier to see Last Week Tonight- clips in University more often)
