Facebook Instant Article Plugin for WordPress

Facebook has allowed to publish instant articles for all publishers over the world. Instant articles load up to 10x faster than mobile web and you can deliver fast and immersive reading experience on Facebook. Facebook partnered with open source platform group : WordPress, Drupal, Tempest,etc. In this article, I will show you how to create Facebook Instant Articles for your blog or website using WordPress Plugin. Ok, Let’s do it.

Before Your Start

To use Facebook Instant Articles feature via WordPress website, you must first download and install Facebook Instant Articles WP plugin. Download Zip file from WordPress Plugins Directory or you can directly install from WordPress plugins sidebar. After installing plugin, you need to activate these plugin. Ok, after finishing these all steps, we need to configure a few things to get Instant Articles feature. After installed and activated plugin, Instant Article setting will appear on sidebar. See the following picture.

You need to setup Instant Articles plugin. Fill your App ID and Secret code and click next. If you haven’t any app id or secret code, go to Facebook Developer Page and create an app. You will get app id and app secret code.

After clicking “Next” button, you have to click “Login with Facebook” button and it will redirect to Facebook to allow instant articles for your page.

And this app permission will appear.

Click “Okay” and it will automatically redirect to your website admin page. In this section, you need to select your page and click “Next”. Then, you see instant articles plugins has been successfully activated.

Although plugin activation process is finished, you need to configure additional settings for Instant Articles. You need to signup for Instant Article. Signup with the page you want to use instant article feature.

Now, you reached half-way and need to claim your URL. Go to your page settings, click “ Instant Articles” and claim your URL.

After claiming URL, you must fill RSS feed url in the box. After filling RSS Feed URL, just wake a few seconds.

Then, go to Publishing Tools and click “Production”. You will see unpublished articles.

Now, you see the articles on your page. But these articles are not live yet and your must submit for review. You must create at least 10 articles before submitting for review. Before submitting review, you must configure style template for your articles.

You can assign any fonts and color. But a main important thing you need to know is logo. You can’t submit for review if you style template hasn’t a logo. After all of these steps are completed, you can submit for review.

Facebook team will review your articles and provide feedback within 3 to 5 business days. After Facebook approved you to post instant articles, you can start publishing. Enjoy your Facebook page with amazing Instant Articles feature.
