Death penalty is one of the complicated, and morally difficult topic that has caused a huge discussion globally.

The death penalty’s supporters argue that it is an effective deterrence against dreadful actions. They argue that people are deterred from committing serious crimes by the fear of death, upholding law and order. Vengeance is also highlighted by supporters, who say that justice requires harshest punishments for the most grave crimes. According to this perspective, the death penalty gives victims closure.

On the other hand, the death penalty’s opposing parties argue that it violates people’s right to life and is basically inhumane. They claim that, regardless of the crime committed, taking a human life is morally sinful. Since the legal system is flawed and mistakes can result in the irreversible execution of innocent people, the possibility of wrongful execution is also an important concern.

As for me, I stand with the supporters of the death penalty. Personally I believe those who are capable of committing these inhuman acts should not receive any compassion whether it was intentional or unintentional. However, the death penalty’s future seems uncertain as cultures continue to change and debate topics like justice and human rights. It makes us think carefully about the ideals we defend and the type of justice system we work to maintain.

In the end, the discussion about the death sentence forces us to address important issues related to justice, life, and the moral obligations of the state.
