There are two important concepts of the .neo domain auctions you need to know: Auction period and overtime bidding.

The auction period is the first stage of the auction and its duration is three days, during which all bids are valid. Overtime bidding can last up to two days and will be triggered if someone bids on the last (third) day of the auction period. If no new bids are received on the last day, the auction ends at the end of the auction period.

Overtime bidding is the second stage of the auction. Its maximum duration is two days. During this period, any bid may trigger the end of overtime bidding and will leave any new bids invalid. The later one bids, the more likely it is to trigger the end of the bidding. Thus, it’s advised to place a bid as early as possible to avoid missing out on your domain.
