CITY BUS TRACKER
Problem statement:
Our website is here to help travelers navigate a city with the confidence of a local and save time.
BMTC bus tracking website was designed to keep in mind the passengers’ problems and promoting public use of transportation. BMTC bus tracking website was designed to keep in mind the passengers’ problems and promoting public use of transportation.
How often do you travel by BMTC buses in Bangalore? How many are too afraid to even give it a try? And how many have tried and given up? There are several reasons why many Bangaloreans do not opt to travel by public transport. Some of them are:
(a) Buses are not reliable and punctual.
(b)Buses are not fast and take circuitous routes to reach the destination.
(c )Often the bus stops are a kilometer or more away from the residence and/or place of work.
Although we cannot solve these problems , we intend to solve other issues such as :
- We have seen that the main issue in switching over to public transport is not knowing the routes of the buses as majority board are in Kannada only.
- We cannot keep a track of the innumerable buses and their respective routes which are deployed across the city . When this confusion of the bus numbers arise , our website is here to rescue.
Our solution :
We have designed an interactive user friendly website that addresses the above problem .
Our website expects the user to just enter the bus number that he or she wants to take and provides accurate and efficient information regarding the origin and the destination of that bus .
The user can also input the destination and the website will display the bus number that has to be taken in order to reach the destination punctually.
The website also contains an attractive homepage that allows the user to give their valuable feedback and also enthusiastic users can understand the functionalities by reading the about section of the webpage.
Our vision:
Our website aims at providing ease to everyone while they commute across Bangalore. Though the website is under development, we aim to improve by integrating google maps such that the route is mapped by entering only the bus number as well as notify the user when they near their destination and provide all the necessary information like cost and timings and make it highly convenient for the passengers…

We built this interesting project through the icebreaker from Newolf society and had an amazing and interactive learning experience .We were mentored by Nevasini. A big thank you to Tanya who was really enthusiastic and supported us throughout the event.
