Update: Arrest Made in Business Burglary Investigation

On December 10, 2019, approximately 12:04 a.m., 20-year-old Isaiah Justin Johnson — of the 300 block of Circuit Lane — was arrested in connection with the investigation below. Mr. Johnson was arrested in the 800 block of 21st Street and turned over to the custody of the Newport News City Jail. He is charged with one count each burglary and buy/receive stolen goods.

Further investigation revealed that the vehicle Mr. Johnson was operating was reported stolen on December 1, 2019 from the area of 33rd Street and Washington Avenue. He was charged with one count grand larceny, in addition to the above charges.

The Newport News Police Department needs your help to solve a recent burglary from a business.

On December 6, 2019, approximately 2:34 a.m., Newport News police responded to Tacticool Firearms, at 9913 Warwick Blvd., in reference to a burglary alarm.

Upon arrival, officers observed a front window of the business was shattered. Further investigation revealed that approximately 2:31 a.m., an unknown suspect with a tall, thin build, wearing dark clothing and a mask, smashed the window and entered the business. The suspect took multiple firearms and fled the business.

Anyone who can identify the individual in these photos or the vehicle believed to be involved in the incident is asked to call the anonymous Crime Line at 1–888-LOCK-U-UP or submit an anonymous tip online at P3Tips.com. Crime Line callers may remain totally anonymous, are never required to testify in court, and could eligible for a cash reward up to $1,000.
