Business Robbery Investigation

On December 29, 2019, approximately 8:35 p.m., Newport News police were dispatched to the H&H Food Mart convenience store, located at 35th Street and Madison Avenue, in reference to a robbery.

On scene, the clerk advised an unknown male entered the establishment, produced a handgun and demanded money from the cash register. As the clerk opened the register, the man grabbed cash and ran out of the store. No one was injured. The investigation is ongoing.

The suspect is described as a black male with a medium complexion, between 5-foot-10 and 6 feet tall. He was wearing a black jacket with a hood up.
