UPDATE: Double Homicide-1400 Block Kiln Creek Parkway

Update June 16, 2022, 10:25 a.m.: The victims have been identified as 52-year-old Preyas Patel, of Yorktown, and 35-year-old Logan Edward Thomas, of Newport News.

This is still an active investigation, and there is no further information to release at this time.

Chief Drew and the department will be holding a C.A.R.E. Walk in the area of 1401 Kiln Creek Parkway today at 4:30 p.m. in response to last night’s double homicide.

On Wednesday, June 15, 2022, approximately 11:46 p.m., Newport News police were called to a suspicious situation at a business in the 1400 block of Kiln Creek Parkway.

Two adult males were found inside the business with gunshot wounds. They were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Forensic Unit is on scene processing evidence, and individuals are being interviewed. Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses.

This remains an ongoing investigation, and there is no further information to release at this time.
