Missing Juvenile Brielle Silver Found Safe and Unharmed

Update (1:30 a.m., April 16): Brielle Silver has been found safe and unharmed in Georgia and will be reunited with her family. Ms. Gould will be extradited to Virginia. Her abduction charge has been upgraded to a felony. Thanks to all those who shared the information and assisted.

Update (7:05 p.m., April 15): Police have been provided with an updated tag for the Mercury Mariner: Tennessee plates, 978BJSC.

Update (6:36 p.m., April 15): The Virginia State Police has issued an Amber Alert in this case.

Update (6:25 p.m., April 15): Warrants have been obtained against Silver’s mother, 38-year-old Bethany Gould. She has been charged with misdemeanor abduction and an emergency protective order. Gould is described as a 38-year-old Caucasian female, approximately 5-feet-4 inches tall and roughly 140 pounds. Gould has hazel eyes and brown hair. Newport News Police Department needs your help finding a missing juvenile. Nine-year-old Brielle Silver was last seen at approximately 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023, leaving a business at 12877 Jefferson Ave. Her father reported that she was picked up from the business by a non-custodial parent possibly driving a silver/gray Mercury Mariner with Alabama tags with possible front-end bumper damage on the driver side.

Brielle is described as a light-skinned female with curly brown hair with light-colored streaks in her hair. She is approximately 4-feet-7 inches tall and 100 pounds and was last seen wearing a black tank top with white shorts and no shoes.
