NNPD Makes Arrest in 2022 Homicide

On Friday, October 14, 2022 at 9:04 pm, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Walden Pond Court in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, they located a 15-year old male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for care. The next day, the teenager succumbed to his injuries.

On June 18, 2024, a 17-year-old male was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder and several weapon offenses for the homicide that occurred on October 14, 2022. Because the victim and suspect are juveniles we will not be releasing their names.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who played a role in solving this case. Through your tireless work, we were able to bring some closure to a family who continues to suffer the loss of their young son,” said Chief Steve Drew.
