As part of our ongoing social impact work and commitment to making a positive impact in the communities we serve, our teams at Instacart quickly mobilized this week to help support neighbors affected by the Camp Fire and Woolsey Fire and the firefighters working tirelessly around the clock.

During the week of Thanksgiving, Instacart shoppers delivered Thanksgiving essentials to 25 fire stations within the Los Angeles county as a ‘Thank You’ to the firefighters who have been working to contain the Woolsey Fire. Each delivery included essential ingredients for a Thanksgiving meal including turkeys, stuffing, potatoes, green beans, bread rolls, pies and more.

In Northern California, a team of Instacart shoppers donated and delivered fresh breakfast essentials to the Oroville Nazarene Church — a designated American Red Cross evacuation site for people who have been displaced by the Camp Fire. Shoppers delivered thousands of dollars worth of groceries to the site that will be used to serve breakfast to hundreds of families in need.

I’m in tears because I’m finally paying it forward. Lost my home in a fire in 2008 and we received so much help. To be a part of this is huge for me so thank you!” — Brittany Tullis, NorCal Shopper
