We’ve Partnered with Petco to offer One-Hour Delivery in San Francisco and Boston
Great news for our furry, slimy, scaled and feathered friends, we’ve partnered with Petco to provide same-day delivery service to customers in the San Francisco and Boston areas. Making the lives of pet parents easier and their pets’ lives healthier is Petco’s top priority. Customers often have immediate needs for pet supplies and food but cannot always make it into the store. With Instacart, customers will be able to quickly get the products they know and trust without having to leave home.
“Pet food and supplies is a natural extension of grocery, and we are thrilled to welcome Petco into the Instacart marketplace as the very first non-grocery retailer as we expand our offering,” said Apoorva Mehta, our CEO and founder. “Our goal is to make it easier and more convenient for retailers to get online and offer one-hour delivery, and we’re thrilled to be working with Petco to offer customers a seamless, simple solution that gives them faster access to the products they need to care of their pets.”
Customers will be able to choose from approximately thousands of Petco products — including food, toys and supplies for pets ranging from dogs and cats to fish and birds — on the Instacart marketplace and select a delivery timeframe — within one hour, within two hours or at a scheduled time in the future. We plan to pilot the service in the San Francisco Bay and Greater Boston areas initially.
Customers will be able to place orders on the web or through Instacart’s mobile apps available for iPhone and Android. Instacart Personal Shoppers receive the orders on smartphone devices and hand-pick the items at a nearby Petco store, then make the delivery.
