Official Launch of Analyze Boston: Coming April 6th!

Hi everyone!

We’re excited to share a few announcements about the launch of Analyze Boston, Boston’s new open data hub.

April 6th. The site will graduate from “beta” status and officially launch on THURSDAY, APRIL 6TH. That evening, we’ll showcase the new site, talk about its development, and answer questions at an event hosted by General Assembly during one of their “Talk Data to Me” events. Space is limited, so sign up now for a free ticket.

Open Data Challenge. This launch on April 6th will also coincide with a month-long event called the ANALYZE BOSTON OPEN DATA CHALLENGE, where individuals or teams can compete for prizes by sharing their best analyses, visualizations, models, and applications built on new and improved datasets.

May 6th. The challenge will culminate in a free all-day event on SATURDAY, MAY 6TH, at District Hall. Every Open Data Challenge participant will get first access to tickets and the opportunity to showcase their work at a panel presentation, small-group demo, or poster session. Expert judges will select their favorite submissions, and winners will be announced at the end of the day. We’ll also demo some of the site’s newest features, give a sneak peek at what’s coming down the road, and host workshops for attendees of all skill levels.

We’re looking for partners to help host the Analyze Boston Open Data Challenge event, and we will be posting an announcement about this in the coming days. In the meantime, please email analyticsteam@boston.gov if you’d like to help out, and we’ll be in touch.
