Whether you want to time how much you’re listening to your favourite podcast or just want the app to handle the audio stopping when you’re falling asleep, we have you covered!

Here at Wireless, we’ve been working on features and enhancements to the talkSPORT and Times Radio apps throughout this year. One of the noteworthy additions to the apps is the Sleep Timer, a feature a number of our listeners have requested

The sleep timer we’ve designed will allow you to set a time ranging from 5 minutes to 3 hours, which will count down and then automatically stop the audio.

The below figure shows you the flow of the sleep timer.

  1. It begins in the full page player, where a button titled “Set Sleep Timer” will appear under the play button.
  2. Clicking that button will take you to the new feature that has a scrolling list of times available for you to set your playtime and a button to hide this view.
  3. Once you have selected a time you’ll see the view has updated with the remaining time at the top and instead of the close button you have Stop and Done. The Stop button will stop and reset the timer but will continue playing the audio, the Done button will hide this view but will keep the timer active in the background.
  4. Once you have hit the done button and then navigate back to the full-screen player you will see the button titled “Set Sleep Timer” has changed to the remaining time, giving you a quicker way to see how long you have left without opening up the entire Sleep Timer view!
