George Floyd’s death on May 25, 2020, sent shockwaves through our country as millions of people watched his final moments unfold in the police body camera footage. Black Lives Matter protests sparked up around the country demanding justice for Floyd and protesting against police brutality. The case developed quickly with protests in many areas of the country, President Trump threatened to take action if the states didn’t handle it, and the National Guard was mobilized in many of the states. Another big topic of conversation was the violent police response to the protests about police brutality, including tear gas and flash-bang grenades. The media were quick to cover protests and events surrounding the death of George Floyd, which left citizens with abundant information on the subject. One of the things that made Floyd’s death and the Black Lives Matter protests that followed so widely talked about was the amount of video evidence that was put together. It is one thing to read about topics like this, but it is another to watch them unfold before your own eyes.
