Come, Build Software that Saves Lives with New Story.
We’re hiring a Software Engineer.
At New Story, we’re building software systems that saves lives, no exaggeration. Whether our fundraising platform, internal tools, or offline app for tracking construction progress, we’re continually striving to put more families in more homes in less time. Homes equal safety, security, and stability.
Remember Hurricane Matthew that ripped through Haiti in 2016? Hundreds died. Fortunately, 100% of our homes are still standing with zero casualties.
From early Atlanta meetups, to Y Combinator, and now working as a distributed team alongside thousands for motivated supporters, we’re only getting better.

You might be thinking…
- “A software engineer at a nonprofit? I’ll probably just be updating their wordpress site.”
- “What kind of future is there for me with a nonprofit? I want to improve and grow.”
- “What will my friends think?”
- “They probably want me to volunteer… nonprofits always want free work.”
To which I would respond…
- No wordpress updates. You’ll be working on Rails and React systems being used on an international level.
- There is no ‘startup fame’ in our future, but we’re setting a pace to shift how organizations and governments address homelessness.
- At first they’ll probably roll their eyes or give the ‘that’s cute’ smile. Then, you’ll get to show them the videos and tell the stories of impact.
- Nope, it’s a paid role. We understand the costs associated with hiring talented people and we gladly offer competitive salaries.
As a software engineer at New Story, you will…
- be challenged to think bigger, always.
- work with a team of high performance people.
- travel internationally to witness the effects of your work.
- receive direct mentorship.
- set and achieve weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual goals.
- ship software that matters.
It’s an onsite, Atlanta based position and the timid need not apply.
