Newsy is rated as the most reliable and neutral cable news network and was ranked among the most reliable news sources no matter the medium, alongside AP, Reuters, and ABC, according to the most recent Media Bias Chart™ from Ad Fontes Media.

Ad Fontes Media, Inc. was founded in 2018 by Vanessa Otero, creator of the Media Bias Chart™. The chart, first published in 2016, categorizes the media landscape using two domains: overall reliability and bias (left- vs. right-leaning views). Its mission is to help citizens, educators and brands navigate today’s complex media landscape and contribute to a healthy democracy.

According to an Ipsos poll conducted on behalf of Newsy in September, most Americans (65%) say that there aren’t enough options for unbiased news coverage. The poll revealed only 31% of Americans believe cable news and news streaming services are fair in their political reporting.

“Viewers tell us Newsy is a welcome reprieve from the argument-based landscape of cable and streaming national news,” said Christina Hartman, Newsy’s vice president of news and programming. “So, we love seeing additional validation that we’re doing exactly what we promise: Delivering news that informs, not influences.”

Newsy is the leading cross-platform national news network and has distribution agreements with many of the country’s largest cable companies, covering nearly 40 million pay TV subscribers. Newsy also is a leader in over-the-top television with distribution on nearly every streaming platform.

Newsy is a wholly owned subsidiary of The E.W. Scripps Company (NASDAQ: SSP).
