First up, we’re hosting a design sprint workshop on Saturday, January 21st, geared for aspiring entrepreneurs. Insider Knowledge Workshop | Google Ventures Design Sprint
Based on the Design Sprint process developed by Google Ventures, this hands-on workshop will show you exactly how to apply the process yourself. You’re going to:
- Define the right solution to your problem and sketch it
- Turn a storyboard into a prototype
- Pitch your concept to get customer feedback
This is a great opportunity to get your team together and build a prototype in just one day. Or, if you don’t have a team and you’re looking to bring on a CTO, you can come build a mockup to share your vision.

How do you fell if we could all work with the awesome 4 students entrepreneurial groups to have 4 collaborative workshops in the 4 universities throughout the year? HTML500 COMING UP!
Lighthouse Labs is bringing back Canada’s largest open access education event in 2017. The event is free for 150 participants in Montreal, most likely at ETS with our friends at Cedilles on April 1st; and we need developers to help us mentor (TA) them on the basic HTML/CSS as they build their first landing page. UPCOMING EVENTS
Among others, ConUHacks II next weekend brings together hacking excellence from across Canada and the United-States. 400+ participants, 6 courses of the finest foodie food are served, tech giants are present, amazing industry mentors and awesome prizes are offered to the best hacks. QueerTechMTL on Wednesday, is the well overdue safe space for Montreal tech queer community and its allies.
HackerNest Tech Social is a free, fun, and relaxed way to connect with your local tech community around a couple beers. The host for January has a virtual reality lounge, too.
