Nexinter at The Malta AI & Blockchain Summit: a quick round up
Some takeaways from the AIBCSummit Spring Edition
The incredible two-day event attracted over 5,500 people and our CEO Ana Bencic and CMO Daniele Mensi along with the rest of Nexinter’s team were there.
They watched some incredible moments on stage, from heated bidding from Brock Pierce at at the A.I. and Blockchain Awards auction, to some intriguing conference debate between Roger Ver and Tone Vays, a true BTC vs BTC Cash showdown.
IEOs and STOs as the evolution of the ICO model
During the event, we saw an increase in the servicing business instead of the platform business where NextHash (Nexinter’s parent company) operates.
“I suspect this is due to the complexity and cash-intensive needs to operate in the platform business with high upfront barriers”, said CMO Daniele Mensi
It was also fascinating to liaise with startups, get their feedback and their challenges in raising money through traditional financing or through IEO (Initial Exchange Offering), as an evolution to the ICO model that has not delivered to the investors the expected value.
There was a positive sentiment as an IEO might be a chance for seed-investments with a minimum level of scrutiny and due-diligence. Nevertheless, we have seen a few projects really eager to raise capital through STO, mostly because they are confused by the blockchain regulations.
With regards to the regulation landscape, Mensi added: “We expect Nexthash will play a leading role to address this gap and become the platform of choice for future STOs, in EU and beyond.”
